The Unique Taste of Andino Beans
Public Market Coffee is a Seattle-based coffee company that sustainably sources its beans from the Peruvian Andes. When this project came to me, I was handed a coffee bag dieline—and that was pretty much it.
From there, we named the coffee and built the packaging around what made it different: high-altitude growing, small-farm sourcing, and a more complex flavor profile.
Andino beans are grown exclusively on small farms above 4,000', where the perfect mix of rich soil, climate, and traditional farming practices come together to create a complex mix of flavor notes that can’t be found in coffee grown at lower elevations.
Scientifically speaking, the sugar concentration is higher. That, coupled with small-batch roasting, gives it a signature taste.
Those differences became the story the packaging needed to tell.
